Bicycle ramp Zurich West

In the Zurich West area, the application of the WETRAFFIC thin-film system was implemented on a bicycle ramp to connect the levels of urban infrastructure. The project was aimed at ensuring the safe movement of cyclists and pedestrians while overcoming the height difference in the space of the transport hub.

At the same time, the distinctive red design fulfills the function of optical highlighting of the cycling route within an architecturally designed public space.

Characteristics of the implementation

The application was made on ramp construction with emphasis on the anti-skid properties of the surface and its long-term resistance to intensive operation.

Implementations included:

• preparation of the base layer of the ramp
• application of WETRAFFIC thin film system
• Unification of the color surface
• final technological closure

The surface was designed to provide safe adhesion even when riding in inclines and in adverse climatic conditions.

• increase the safety of cyclists at the exit and descent of the ramp

• highlighting cycling infrastructure in the space

The colorful ramp naturally complements the modern urban environment and at the same time performs a full-fledged safety and navigation function.
